Classic Cruzers Car Club

Meeting minutes

4/12/2025

Meeting started: 10:04am

Attendees: 31 people

Paid members are 38 with 17  significant others.

Trophies for the car show are all sponsored. There are letters available asking for a donation. Please seek out businesses who will donate. Pick one up at the meeting or ask Todd for one. Checks can be made out to the club or a housing 4 Our Vets.

Al may not be able to announce for our car show. Volunteers are requested to fill in if needed that day. Del is available for music at all of the shows.

The city does not want Del to set up in the sidewalk for cruise in nights. It was suggested to move him to a few parking spots to have his equipment more central. That will depend on whether electricity is available in that area for him to use.

May 31st will be the spring cruise. Details will be coming about that.

The Good Works Good Times Roll cruise in is August 16th. There is currently some question about who is working on the cruise in on their end and whether it will be happening. Tammy will call and find out more.

Checking balance as of March 31st is $2,034.59. More has been added since then but a total isn’t available.

Meeting adjourned at: 10:32am.

Attendees: 29 people

Paid members are 35 with 17 significant others.

The VFW built an addition onto their pavilion. There isn't running water but there will be portable water. It has electricity. There is a space out back for grills or a band. There will also be a bar set up in that area.

Meyer’s contacted Todd about using their place as a destination or an event. Todd and Sandy will meet with them to see if it is a possible end on a destination cruise.

Tom West will be working with some other members to help at Pisons and Props this summer. Contact Tom if you’d like to help as well to park cars.

The flyers for the cruise ins and car show were handed around to proofread and see any changes that needed to be made. Kids’ choice will be added to the trophy list.

Car show committee updated the club. Members are looking into possible future sights for the car shows.

Parking committee updated the club. Parking went well last year.

Jim reported 98% of the sponsors from last year for trophies will sponsor them again this year. We still need a sponsor for a modern muscle trophy. Donations are still  being sought. The cost per trophy is $75. Jim is getting quotes from various places for trophies and dash plaques and  will be meeting with the companies. He did ask for help from club members to get donations, so talk to Jim if you’d like to help.

Tom will look into having some Veterans who are car people to come and vote for the Veteran’s choice trophy.

Financially the club has $1,834.46 after checks written last month to the VFW and YMCA.

See Todd if you want business cards to hand out.

Meeting started: 3:12pm
Attendees: 42 people

Today was the Christmas pot luck party. It was a great turnout with some wonderful food. Our meeting was held after the group ate.

The VFW car show has moved to Saturday, June 28th due to a scheduling conflict. It will be from 9am -2pm There will be a flag ceremony again.  There isn’t a best of show trophy anymore. There will instead be a Veteran’s choice trophy as well as  a modern muscle trophy.

Cooks are needed for the car show. The Rogers would like a break from cooking during the show. 1-2 people willing to take over and help during the show.  Volunteers are needed to cook, hand out food and collect the money.  Three people volunteered during the meeting to help.

Jim is looking into a different supplier for the trophies to get a better price. The park downtown is reserved for each cruise night this summer. There is no charge for the pavilion but it will be empty for the club use. Moving the DJ closer to the show instead of the pavilion has been discussed before but a spot to move it to is up in the air. Todd said he is open to any ideas people have. There is enough electrical for the music to be moved, but a flat cement service for the equipment is needed.

Membership dues are due for the year. They are $25 per person/couple. Please pay Dennis.

$1584.46 is where the club stands financially. Insurance will be due in a few months and will be taken out of this amount.

Membership count is 59 paid and 32 significant others.

Another board member is also needed if someone wants to volunteer. See Todd if you’d like a board position.

More volunteers are needed for committees. In February will be more discussion and start arranging meetings to get things done. Todd is starting a calender of deadlines/due dates for when things need to be done or scheduled.

Classic Cruzers Meeting Minutes

Saturday, November 9th, 2024

Number of attendees:  27

Meeting started: 10:03am

Members: 55 paid and 25 significant others.

Tiffany Ford, the marketing director, was here from Housing 4 Our Vets to receive the check from the funds raised this year. Lance is the director for the program and he spoke to the club.  A Veteran, Stan, from the program also spoke to the group about his experience with Housing 4 Our Vets.

The group that put on Props and Pistons at the airport would like to coordinate with the group for the car show they put on. They hae room for 600 cars.  It’s a two day event and they would like us to help with the event.  A decision will be made next meeting if we would like to partner with them for this one event, or make this our event instead of the car show at the VFW. A question the group had was where does the money go from the Props and Pistons event?  Tom spoke to a man coordinating the show. Friday’s proceeds go towards a Veterans’ organization. The proceeds from Saturday go towards that show’s costs. Any leftover money goes towards next year’s show. Tom said he will speak to the man in charge of the event and see if he can come to the January meeting to talk to the group.  The price of the entry fee and the food was a concern because it did seem high.  It was a first year event and perhaps the Cruzers club can help with next year’s event with advice.

Todd will start the paperwork for the cruise nights. Dennis will take care of the insurance part.

Saturday, January 11th 2025 is the holiday party at 11am at the VFW.  The club will have a short meeting first.  Bring a dish to share with the club, as well as your own drinks.  Lori and Rich are coordinating the event.

There is no meeting in December.

Penny is willing to make a quilt to be sold to raise money this coming year. Todd is looking for suggestions of ideas for a theme for the quilt.

See Todd if you want any club cards to hand out to people to advertise the Cruzers. Don’t forget to add your contact information onto the back of the card.

The sign up for committees was discussed. The food area does not have a committee yet. Trophies also need more people.  We need someone to sign up to help with music for cruise nights, in case Del is unable to do the music. Help with special events is also needed.  All members should sign up and be active with the events the Cruzers put on.

The Marines will be doing food again for next year's cruise ins. Del will continue to do the music next year. He will do all three events.  Tom suggested a bluetooth speaker because it is hard to hear people at the food tent. There is a cost to use the pavilion Del sets up on. It was suggested Del and his DJ set up be moved closer to the cars.

Meeting adjourned: 10:56am
